This is the mummified head of Santa Caterina. She became a saint
after writing a bunch of letters to the Pope. The rest of her
body is in Padova or somewhere. What possesses the religious
folks to decapitate a saint and post her head at the side of the
church for people to come by and check out? It's bizarre.
