Arrival at the airport in Milan and waiting for the bags. The
flight was really long! (About 13 hours).
Then the bus ride from the airport in Milan to Siena. This was
also really long, about 6 hours. This huge bus going down all
this narrow medieval streets is a trip.
There's not much to do except sleep it off.
Our first night in Siena, we stayed in a nice hotel where the
hotel lady didn't speak any english, so she had me answering the
phones and taking phone reservations from Americans. She had a
mynah bird that could talk in Italian and Japanese, too. A
Japanese tourist staying at the hotel taught the bird how to say
something, but the hotel lady had no idea what it meant. They
also had a cat, Chico, that would sleep under the bed and in the
morning would attack your feet from under the bed when you got
too close.
